Resource Highlight: How to Reconcile Faith & LGBTQ+ Identity (Podcast Episode)

This week, I had the privilege of being quoted in an episode of Suswati Basu’s podcast, How to Be…, where she explores how we can master ourselves by looking at how authors and experts say it is possible.

In this episode, Basu examines what it means to live at the junction of religion and LGBTQ+ identity through Lamya H.’s book Hijab Butch Blues and Amber Cantorna-Wylde’s books Unashamed: A Coming-Out Guide for LGBTQ Christians and Refocusing My Family: Coming Out, Being Cast Out, and Discovering the True Love of God.

I recommend this episode (embedded below) for any LGBTQ+ folks who have ever felt like they had to choose between their religion and their LGBTQ+ identity, for non-LGBTQ+ people of faith who want to better understand the experiences of LGBTQ+ people of faith, and for anyone outside those categories who wants to better understand why some LGBTQ+ folks maintain a religious identity despite anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments within many religious communities.
