Angélique “Angel” Gravely is a bisexual educator, writer, speaker, and advocate based in the Philadelphia area. Since 2013, she has worked to bridge opportunity and knowledge gaps between marginalized and privileged communities by addressing LGBTQ+ issues from an intersectional lens. Her multifaceted work has included presenting at Christian and LGBTQ-themed conferences, writing for nationally-recognized LGBTQ+ blogs, and serving as part of the board of GLSEN Philly to support LGBTQ+ K-12 students in Philadelphia.
Her areas of expertise include:
- Highlighting bisexual+ experiences, needs, and histories
- Highlighting Black SGL/LGBTQ+ experiences, needs, and histories
- Supporting LGBTQ+ K-12 students in schools and within families
- Creating and strengthening LGBTQ-inclusive Christian communities
She obtained her M.Ed. in Counselor Education and Human Sexuality Studies from Widener University and her B.A. and passion for this work from Eastern University. In addition to her degrees, she possesses Elementary and Secondary School Counseling certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Professional Development Facilitator certification from GLSEN.
